About Me

Growing up in rural Oklahoma, I spent most of my free time outside and doing things with my hands.  I’ve never been afraid to accept a challenge or get my hands dirty!  My love for building and DIY came much later in life, however, after my family purchased our first house a few years ago.  So many times we would have a project that I just knew I could do myself if only I had the know how! So I decided to learn. Fast forward several years and now I am a self taught woodworker and DIYer.  I work part time and have a busy, active family, but this is my hobby and my passion.

Named after the road I grew up on and my DIY style, Rocky Canyon Rustic is the perfect outlet for me to share what I’ve learned and continue to challenge myself.

I hope to inspire others to try new things, get out of your comfort zone, and create some amazing things along the way!  I make mistakes.  Like a lot of them.  My goal by sharing my projects and my learning process is to A) share what I’ve learned and save you from some of those frustrating mistakes, B) motivate you to get out there and make some mistakes yourself (because that is part of it, my dear friend!), and C) have some fun and learn a few new things along the way!

I like building, refinishing, creating, and refurbishing all sorts of home decor.  I love the rustic, farmhouse vibe but also like to incorporate things that are kid friendly, wallet friendly, and timeless.

Come hang with me (virtually of course) and check out what I’ve been up to!  Share some fun things that you’ve been up to also!  Let’s learn and create together!
