I don’t know about you, but to me Adirondack chairs are synonymous with summer! I just love them! This DIY oversized Adirondack chair is by far one of my favorite DIY projects. Not only do they look great, but they are so cozy and get SO much use! Oh…and did I mention that if you make them yourself they are WAY cheaper than you would purchase for in a store?? You’re welcome.
So, complete disclosure here…these chairs are not a product of my creative genius. They are a gorgeous project that I found on pinterest and one that comes with a full step by step tutorial! I mean, does it get any better than that?! You can view the tutorial here and I highly recommend you do! The steps are very easy to follow and the end product is perfect.
So, I’ll admit I wasn’t great at taking in progress shots at the time I built this…but isn’t she beautiful?? I wanted a semi-transparent stain the retain the beauty of the wood…but we had a little bit of a mix up (I’ll refrain from throwing my husband completely under the bus here) and now she has a dark solid stain. Still looks good, just not exactly what I wanted. If she ever needs a touch up, I may actually go black which I think would look awesome with my grey house!
I was a relative newbie when I first attempted this project and they still turned out amazing, if I do say so myself! Hoping to build a couple more soon to have a complete set (and maybe I need a fire pit for the middle? I think so…).
What do you think of these DIY Oversized Adirondack Chairs? Aren’t they great! Just picture yourself curled up in front of a fire with a cup of coffee on one of these babies. If that thought doesn’t motivate you to make your own set, I don’t know what will! Looking for a fun winter version of an Adirondack chair?! Check out this Adirondack chair I made from skis!
