So I’ve decided to join the One Room Challenge again and this time I am tackling my master bathroom! Unfortunately, there will be no major gut renovations going on here…just budget friendly upgrades to make the space more beautiful and enjoyable until the time comes to do a full renovation. So make sure to follow along each week as I update my master bathroom, one budget conscious project at a time!
Current State of the the Master Bathroom
This bathroom is pretty blah and boring. And dated. But the biggest problem here is the issue with moisture. The ceiling is peeling and there is some damage along the shower wall as well that needs to be addressed. So while I’m fixing those issues, I might as well make it pretty!
Plan:
Replace the old bathroom fan- this will help prevent future moisture damage
Scrape the ceiling and apply decorative moisture proof ceiling tiles
Paint the shower surround and touch up the painted shower tile.
Apply vinyl tile over existing tile floor.
Replace Toilet
Add wall treatment like board and batten or beadboard to walls.
Add built in shelving to weird gap on the side of vanity.
Build shelving for above the toilet.
Repaint vanity.
Update all bathroom hardware (vanity, towel bars, toilet paper holder, etc).
Ok, I’m officially exhausted just listing all that out! Hopefully I can slowly crank through it all over the next 8 weeks! Follow along over on Instagram as I walk you through the projects in real time! And make sure to go and check out all the other guest participants of the Fall 2021 One Room Challenge!
